Video: Sounds And Sights Of The Zagato Tz3 Stradale

It made its grand debut last week, but the sexy, curvy TZ3 Stradale from Zagato was mostly interested in showing off its looks. This week, the TZ3 shows its personality and inside. We get to take a look inside the engine bay and underneath the tires. And we get to witness the special edition's personality through its throaty V8 grumble and on-road temperament. As they so often say, it's what's on the inside that counts.

In case you missed it, the TZ3 Stradale is the grand finale of a centennial birthday party that Zagato has been throwing Alfa Romeo. The party kicked off with last year's TZ3 Corsa, a one-off, snake-tattooed race car and signs off with the TZ3 Stradale, a nine-make "design exercise" honoring Alfa's illustrious history with road cars.

Oddly, the car isn't based on anything out of Alfa's garages; it's a Dodge Viper ACR at heart. But we're pretty sure the engine under the hood is the 4.2-liter V8 from the 8C Competizione, so add in the distinctive Alfa grille and refined looks, and it's got plenty of Italian to go around.

The two-minute clip below was taken by CarGraphic magazine, which got the privilege of a personal tour of the TZ3 Stradale in Zagato's Milan headquarters. They peek under the hood and around the perimeter. More importantly, they catch the blissful exhaust note and share for us all to enjoy.

And then—the driving footage that we waited oh-so-patiently for. It's not an all-out track attack, but it's some pretty quick driving on an open highway, so it will quench your TZ3 thirst for a short while. Take the full journey:

To connect the rest of the TZ3 Stradale dots, read about it in our coverage from last week's debut.
