Video: Close and Intimate With Pagani Huayra

The Pagani Huayra is one of those cars that we just can't get enough of. So, we were quite ecstatic to see an all-new video of the Italian supercar earlier this week.

Filmed at the 10th annual "Motori e Sapori" (Motors and Tastes) event near Pagani's factory in Italy, the car is slightly different from the Huayra that Pagani debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. It's actually a prototype—Prototype 4 to get all particular—that Pagani will be using to test out future iterations of the Huayra.

The video starts off with the silver Huayra model first seen in Pagani's ill-fated teaser campaign. It then takes us on an in-depth tour of the Pagani, pulling us into those mesmerizing air intakes and that pristine leather interior, getting us within breathing distance of the center-mounted quad exhaust, headlamps, and gull-wing doors, letting us see the Huayra like never before (unless, of course, you were in Geneva). And it's all done to a hearty classical soundtrack. It's much more purposeful than the last piece of Huayra close-up footage we saw.

The Pagani Huayra is expected to cost well over a million dollars, and will make it to the United States market, unlike its predecessor. It is powered by a 700-hp 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 engine supplied by Mercedes Benz AMG. Mated to a seven-speed paddle-shift gearbox, that big engine delivers the car to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and doesn't stop until 230 mph.

Pagani is still testing the Huayra and has yet to announce finalized performance specs or pricing on the model.

While you wait for your chance to buy the Huayra—which should come later this year—enjoy three minutes worth of Pagani bliss in the video downstairs. Hopefully, we'll get to see it live at the New York Auto Show next month.
