Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4: SOLD OUT

Well, that didn't take long at all. A day after Lamborghini finally unveiled its newest V12 flagship, the Bull announced that the entire first-year production run of the Aventador LP700-4 has sold out. While Lamborghini didn't specificy the exact number of Aventadors it had sold, Motor Trend estimates the number around 900, or nearly a quarter of the entire 10-year production run of the Murcielago. Not bad for one day.

To be fair, Lamborghini was wooing buyers long before it debuted the car on Monday. Several leaks came from events at which Lamborghini was showing the car to buyers to fill its order books. So the car didn't actually sell out in a single day.

Still, the fact that the Aventador LP700-4 has sold out this quickly is a testament to its styling, technology, and performance. It's so easy to be disappointed when a car in the vein of a Lamborghini flagship launches, but in my opinion, the Aventador has made good on its hype—and then some. The aggressive look of big, bold curves and sharp lines and angles really takes the styling to the next level from the Murcielago. And it's hard to argue with the 700 horses, 509 lb-ft of torque, 2.9-seconds to 62 mph time, and 217 mph top speed.

The first Aventadors will be delivered in late summer, Lamborghini stated in its launch press release. The car will base at $379,700 in the U.S. and will come in a palatte of 13 different exterior colors. I don't typically like red Lamborghinis, but the Aventador looks pretty damn good in the rosy-orange (Arancio Argos if you want to get Lambo-technical) suit.

See some new pictures of the Aventador in the gallery below and burn with envy just a little more.
