Subaru Lovers and Audiophiles Rejoice

Commonly recognized as an all-rounder brand, the latest Subarus offer so many features and incredible bang-for-the-buck value that owners have no choice but to fall deeply in love. What’s better than symmetrical AWD, practical interior space, decent gas mileage, and smile-cracking drivability? Subaru of America has announced that it will partner with Kicker Performance Audio to supply original equipment audio upgrades on compatible new and currently loved models.

Kicker Performance is a 30-year industry leader in quality after-market audio accessories. The audio system designed for Subaru vehicles includes a 10-inch powered subwoofer in a molded enclosure intended to fit in the rear cargo area. Now Subaru owners can enjoy driving while blasting show tunes from the opera Roméo et Juliette symbolizing their forbidden love affair.

Subaru Accessories Marketing Manager, Jay Gelletly, spoke up earlier this week. “We are pleased to offer another high quality upgrade for our vehicles that our enthusiasts will enjoy. ”If Subaru’s goal is to create vehicles for the purpose of enjoyment, an audio upgrade seems like a great idea. The subwoofer receives power from an integrated 100-watt high-efficiency digital amplifier. Kicker Performance tunes each subwoofer to pair with the unique size of the vehicle’s enclosure, thus creating a deep current of bass from a surprisingly small space.

The upgrades should enhance overall audio performance and sound accuracy throughout the entire system. Using a true plug-and-play wire harness, the amplifier directly connects to pre-existing Subaru audio components. Upgrades are compatible with 2008-2011 Impreza Sedans, Impreza WRX sedans, and 2011 WRX STI sedans, as well as all five-door Impreza models. The subwoofer and amplifier can be added to vehicles with and without navigation, meaning Subaru and Kicker do not discriminate against navigation savvy drivers.

Audio upgrade kits are now available through Subaru dealerships. Drivers can elect to purchase a new Subaru with the Kicker system or add the upgrade to an already owned car at one of the 600 Subaru dealerships across the United States. As such, the installation can be done either at factory port processing facilities or locally.

All Subaru vehicles in the US are manufactured in a zero-landfill plant found in Indiana, which is the only US automobile production plant designated as a backyard wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Now owners can appreciate how the car is made, how it drives, and how it sounds. What’s not to love?
