Hamann Tunes The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

We may not have a new Lamborghini flagship in time for the holidays, but thanks to German tuning house Hamann we will have a totally distinctive, all-new Lambo: the newly tuned Gallardo LP560-4 called the Victory II. The car gets some interesting modifications that distinguish it from every other Gallardo in the garage.

The most striking feature of the Victory II is its wing doors. The Gallardo has long had to look on enviously at its big brother Murcielago and past Lamborghinis in terms of its doors. But Hamann delivered a bit of Christmas cheer and put the Gallardo in line with other Lambo icons, providing it with wing doors.

The LP560-4's 552 horses are already pretty virile, but Hamann tinkers with the engine to add 20 horses. To ensure that everyone around you knows that it's not just any Gallardo LP560-4 that you're driving, Hamann adds a new sport muffler to convey the extra potency through a deeper grumble. The car's top speed is raised by 2 mph to 204.

The new body kit includes a front apron, new front fenders, roof-mounted air inlet, new rear spoiler, rear diffuser and side skirts. The car also gets 20-inch Edition Race rims in a unique varnish. The theme is clearly a red on black what with the red hood, air inlet, brake calipers and wing accents.

I usually don't dig multi-colored supercars, but the deep red on matte charcoal doesn't look half bad on the Gallardo. Plus, it seems like it was inspired, at least in part, by Lambo's Sesto Elemento concept.

Inside, the Victory II gets a variety of carbon components including steering wheel, door handles and carbon-backed sport seats.
