Pagani's Latest One-Off Traveling To Hong Kong

Ever since Pagani stopped building regular Zonda models and started offering the car to private customers only, it seems like it's building more Zondas than ever. In the past few months we've seen the blue Zonda HH, the purple Zonda 750 and the bright yellow Zonda RAK. And now we have yet another Zonda private commission: the Zonda Absolute.

As tends to be the case with Zonda leaks, we don't have all the information behind this one. Word originating on the Teamspeed forums is that the Zonda Absolute is being built for a customer in Hong Kong. Far simpler than the bright collage of recent Pagani one-offs, the Absolute features a plain carbon fiber body with touches of matte and gloss paint. Like the Zonda Tricolore, the Absolute gets an Italian-flag-inspired striping, only it's in the form of a single stripe straight down the middle of the hood.

I personally love the 'Absolute' name—sounds so much more definitive than the other recent one-offs. I also can't argue with that carbon fiber body.

It's not certain what powers the car, but it's a safe bet that it's built on the Zonda Cinque powertrain with a 678-hp 7.3-liter Mercedes AMG V12. In past one-offs, customers have chosen their own transmission to mate with the engine.

While the world won't get to see the next-generation Pagani supercar until Geneva, Pagani is keeping our interest piqued with its ongoing series of one-offs. The company will continue to offer privately commissioned Zondas even after its C9 flagship is available. Good news for all us supercar fanatics that just love gawking at a new one-of-a-kind.

As for the C9 , it will be even more powerful than the Zonda, making use of a bespoke Mercedes AMG 6.0-liter V12 worth 700 hp. We've seen plenty of spy shots of the new model and will be seeing it in full in just a few months.
