Chrysler Teases the Next-Gen 300

Chrysler has been really diligent about teasing its new cars of late. Within the past couple months, we saw it with the 2011 Dodge Durango, the 2011 Chrysler 200 (Sebring replacement) and now we have another teaser: the 2011 300. Chrysler recently released several tightly cropped photos of its next-generation flagship sedan, showing everything from the instrument panel and seat leather to the headlamps and wheels.

Unfortunately for Chrysler, its latest teasing effort comes after the 2011 300 was spotted and photoed at a photo shoot--perhaps the very same photo shoot that Chrysler garnered its new teaser photos from. So it's not exactly a tantalizing "tease".

From those spy photos, we can see the entirety of the front, back and sides of the new 300. Thanks to a more rounded hood and front fascia, the 300 no longer quite looks like a "poor man's Bentley." The 300 gets a full redesign, which includes a new, horizontally-slatted grille--similar to the one on the 200--reshaped LED headlights and redesigned taillights. There were no spy shots of the interior, but from what Chrysler has shown in its teasers, expect the next-gen 300 to get a well-appointed interior with upgraded materials.

Under that resculpted hood, Chrysler will offer buyers two engine options: a 292-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a 370-hp 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Unfortunately, there won't be any 600-hp 8.4-liter Viper V10 option. The engines will be mated to a five-speed automatic, and the 300 will come in rear-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive.

The 2011 300 is expected to debut at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (Detroit) in January. However, given that Chrysler did full reveals of both the Durango and 200 via the Internet rather than at proper auto show events, don't be surprised if the 300 pops up a little early.
